SUMMARY OF PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Business Development Manager owns identifying new business opportunities, acquiring new customers, maintaining new customer relationships and driving IoT sales.
A highly skilled, business development personnel who has an inherent drive and entrepreneurial spirit to grow in new and exciting ways will make the ideal candidate. This role will embrace the IDEX operating model and core values (Trust, Teams, and Excellence).
This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills and a proven track record in business development and sales.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Identify New Business Opportunities: Research and analyze market trends to identify potential business opportunities. Develop strategies to target new customers in existing markets, new markets and expand the company's customer base.
  • Customer Acquisition: Generate leads, build relationships, and convert prospects into customers. Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve sales targets.
  • Hardware Sales: Promote and sell all the hardware solutions available in the portfolio in paint and coating industry to new customers and to smaller and mid-tier customers.
  • IoT Sales: Promote and sell IoT solutions to new and existing customers. Understand customer needs and provide tailored IoT solutions to meet their requirements. Demo the solution capabilities and be customer's point of contact for their software solution needs.
  • Legacy Software Migration: Support Application Engineering team in the migration of legacy software systems to modern platforms. Collaborate with technical teams and partner with Account Executives to ensure smooth transitions and minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences. Use insights to inform business development strategies. Partner with Marketing and Product Management to quantify market opportunities, build a funnel, and execute on prioritized prospects.
  • Sales Forecasting: Prepare and present sales forecasts Monitor sales performance and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Networking: Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to network with potential clients and partners. Build and maintain strong professional relationships.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, operations, software, service and customer support, to ensure alignment and achieve business goals.
  • Customer Feedback: Gather and analyze customer feedback to improve products and services. Ensure customer satisfaction and retention.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE
  • Bachelor degree in business or related field is preferred

The compensation range for this position is $78,200.00 - $117,200.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
