The Connectivity team at eero is looking for an experienced engineering manager to lead a team of wireless networking engineers. This team's charter is to develop wireless and wired networking features to delight eero's consumer and business customers.
The role requires a manager who is a technical leader, who has deep understanding of embedded and business networking uses cases and solutions, who can drive projects from Product and ideation, through design, implementation, deployment, and all the way to field monitoring and iterative improvements in performance and customer experience; a team player, who works well with peers of all levels, who is comfortable and effective in an uncertain, fast-moving environment.

Key job responsibilities
- Manage and develop an high-performance team of engineers
- Identify, champion, and deliver the highest impact engineering investments that your team needs in order to continue to deliver in the long term
- Partner with the Product team in defining and refining new requirements
- Collaborate with engineers, managers, and other stakeholders on requirements and execution of projects
- Guide and sometimes lead the definition of the technical solutions that would meet product requirements
- Manage, motivate and support the team members though their personal and professional challenges
- Communicate a rolled up status in an understandable way to a wide range of audiences
- Estimate delivery dates with confidence intervals based on the measured team velocity, remaining work, and projected new work
A day in the life
eero is a small and dynamic organization, and you will have a fair amount of control over how you pursue your and your team's goals. You will be constantly cooperating with other teams, within the Connectivity (Access Point Software) org, and with peers in the cloud, data, mobile, product, support and sales teams.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of engineering experience
- 5+ years of management experience
- Experience managing and developing high performance teams
- Experience working with engineering and product teams to define a product and bring it to market
- Experience driving technical strategy and identifying high-impact engineering investments
- Experience leading cross-functional collaboration across engineering, product, and stakeholder groups
- Demonstrated ability to guide technical solution design and architecture decisions
- Experience with capacity planning and delivery estimation using team velocity metrics
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
- Experience with networking fundamentals
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical status to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience in designing, implementing and shipping new products
- Experience in hiring, mentoring and growing new engineers and managers
- Experience with C, Python and Golang programming languages
- Experience with cloud-managed home and business networks
- Familiarity with wireless protocols
- Ability to quickly ramp up on the essentials of new technical areas

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
