Job description

We are seeking an experienced Software Development Lead to oversee software development initiatives that support critical manufacturing operations. This hands‑on leadership role combines technical expertise with team leadership and cross‑functional collaboration to ensure reliable, scalable, and high‑performing software systems. The ideal candidate is passionate about software development, thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, and enjoys mentoring developers while delivering innovative technology solutions.

Position Responsibilities Software Development & System Design
  • Design, develop, and implement software solutions that support manufacturing operations.
  • Develop data visualization tools, user interfaces, database structures, and reporting systems.
  • Ensure software solutions integrate seamlessly with manufacturing execution systems (MES) and enterprise applications.
  • Maintain and enhance existing software applications while developing new functionality.
Team Leadership & Mentorship
  • Lead and mentor a team of software developers, providing technical guidance and performance support.
  • Coordinate daily development activities, workload distribution, and project priorities.
  • Foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous professional development within the team.
  • Participate in hiring and onboarding new development team members as needed.
Manufacturing Systems Support
  • Provide advanced technical support for manufacturing software systems.
  • Respond quickly to production‑related software issues to minimize operational downtime.
  • Identify root causes of system issues and implement long‑term corrective solutions.
  • Coordinate on‑call support and escalation procedures for critical production environments.
Project Management & Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Manage software development projects from planning through deployment.
  • Work closely with manufacturing leadership, engineers, and business stakeholders to understand system requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal and external development teams to deliver quality software solutions.
  • Ensure successful transition of completed projects into ongoing support.
Database & Application Management
  • Design, develop, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases and stored procedures.
  • Ensure application performance, reliability, and data integrity.
  • Support enterprise reporting and manufacturing data collection systems.
  • Optimize database performance and system scalability.
Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement
  • Establish and maintain software development standards and best practices.
  • Conduct code reviews and promote high‑quality software engineering practices.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency improvements, and process optimization.
  • Support testing, deployment, and software release management activities.
Technology Innovation
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems.
  • Support AI‑based development initiatives where applicable.
  • Utilize modern development technologies including containerization and cloud‑native deployment practices.
  • Stay current with industry trends and software engineering advancements.
Prerequisites
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 6 years of software development experience.
  • Experience leading software development teams or technical projects.
  • Strong proficiency in C# and Microsoft .NET technologies.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft SQL Server database development.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing software systems or manufacturing execution systems (MES).
  • Knowledge of manufacturing automation, industrial software, or production support environments.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and containerization technologies.
  • Understanding of AI development concepts and enterprise software architecture.
  • Strong project management, problem‑solving, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert
  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
  • AWS Certified Developer – Associate
