Software Engineering Intern - DevOps
The Software Engineering Intern - DevOps supports Allegion's Global Software Solutions team by learning to help deploy, secure, and monitor our cloud-based applications and infrastructure. As a Software Engineering Intern, you will work alongside experienced DevOps engineers in a dynamic, Agile environment, gaining hands-on exposure to Azure, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tooling while being mentored throughout your internship.
Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. The company does not intend to provide sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B, TN, etc.) for this employment position.
What You Will Do:
  • Support development teams in deploying, monitoring, and troubleshooting application releases across our Azure environments
  • Help build and maintain automation scripts and CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps, PowerShell, and Terraform
  • Assist in monitoring uptime, performance, and other operational metrics, and help drive open issues to resolution
  • Partner with IT, Information Security, and Product Engineering teams on assigned projects
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to team DevOps initiatives
  • Explore new cloud technologies alongside your mentor and share what you learn with the team

What You Need to Succeed:
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (Required)
  • Coursework or project experience with a scripting or programming language such as PowerShell, Python, or Unix shell scripting (Required)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (Required)
  • Self-motivated, curious, and comfortable working in a team environment (Required)
  • Foundational understanding of cloud computing concepts, Microsoft Azure preferred (Preferred)
  • Basic understanding of version control (e.g., Git) and CI/CD concepts (Preferred)

Compensation: This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.
  • The expected Base Hourly Range: $25-$26/hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
