Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Salesforce specialist to serve as the senior technical authority for the GPS Salesforce platform, a mission critical application supporting key Customer Service workflows, handling member and provider calls. This role requires deep hands on Salesforce expertise combined with strong technical leadership, architecture ownership, and cross team influence.

As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will lead complex Salesforce initiatives across Service Cloud, set engineering standards, and partner closely with architects, product owners, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and high performance solutions in a regulated healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership: Act as the senior technical lead for the GPS Salesforce platform, owning solution design, engineering standards, and complex implementation decisions.

Healthcare & Compliance: Ensure solutions comply with healthcare and insurance regulations (e.g., HIPAA) and enterprise security standards.

Architecture & Design: Partner with architects, product owners, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable, secure Salesforce solutions.

Performance & Reliability: Optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability for high volume enterprise data and mission critical workflows.

Mentorship & Governance: Mentor senior and mid-level engineers, conduct code and design reviews, and enforce best practices across teams.

Salesforce Platform Development: Advanced development using Apex, Triggers, Lightning Web Components (LWC) and Visualforce to deliver scalable enterprise solutions.

Salesforce customization: Customize Salesforce using declarative tools like Flow, triggers.

Data Modeling & Security: Architect custom and standard Salesforce data models, including objects, relationships, sharing rules, roles, permission sets, and field level security.

Integrations & APIs: Implement event driven and API based integrations using REST, SOAP and Bulk; integrate with middleware platforms such as MuleSoft.

Data Integration & Migration: Lead ETL, data migration, and large volume data processing initiatives, ensuring data quality, accuracy, and compliance.

CI/CD & DevOps: Own CI/CD pipelines and source driven development using GitHub Actions and enterprise DevOps best practices.

Performance Optimization: Design and implement optimization strategies for optimal performance, and manage governor limits for high scale applications.

AI & Intelligent Automation: Build and configure AI agents, intelligent workflows, and automated experiences using Salesforce AI capabilities.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional software development engineering experience & hands-on Salesforce development experience including Apex Language, Apex Classes, Apex Triggers, SOQL, Visual Force Pages, Workflow & Approvals, Dashboards, Custom Objects, Package Installations, Email Templates, Formulas, Validation Rules, AppExchange Apex Data Loader, Roles & Profiles

  • 1+ years of Salesforce Lightning web component development experience.

  • 3+ years of experience with Programming languages APEX, Core Java, Java Script.

  • 3+ years of experience working with tools Force.com IDE, Apex Data Loader and ANT, AutoRABIT preferred.

  • 1+ years of experience in Agentforce building AI agents

  • 4+ years delivering complex enterprise Salesforce implementations, including integrations and platform customization.

  • 4+ years Hands on experience with Git based source control and CI/CD pipelines.

  • 5+ years' Experience working in Agile environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Salesforce Certifications: Platform Developer II, Salesforce Platform Administrator I, Application Architect

  • Experience in Healthcare, Insurance or Pharmacy domains

  • Experience modernizing or simplifying legacy Salesforce orgs

  • Familiarity with Agile / Scrum methodologies and tools such as RTC, Rally or Jira

  • Experience with MuleSoft or other middleware / ETL tools

  • Knowledge of Salesforce AI capabilities

  • Experience working with GitHub, RTC, automation tools.

The typical pay range for this role is:

$101,970.00 - $203,940.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
