Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design of protection and control, revenue metering, monitoring, power quality, and related power system engineering projects
  • Support the design team in developing medium- and high-voltage metering, protection, and control systems
  • Prepare drawings, schematics, and diagrams for electrical distribution, metering, and communications systems
  • Support engineering calculations related to metering and protection system configurations
  • Assist with the review and development of vendor equipment specifications
  • Provide technical support to internal teams and, where appropriate, external stakeholders
  • Support technical proposals and solutions engineering activities
  • Develop an understanding of Ontario's electricity market, utility operations, and industry best practices
  • Other duties as required

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Registered in a recognized co-op program
  • Foundational knowledge of power systems, electrical safety principles, grounding, and industry standards
  • Experience or exposure to tools such as Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, Mathcad, MATLAB, ETAP, or other engineering software is considered an asset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn
  • Strong customer service mindset and ability to work effectively in a team environment

Term Details, Compensation & Work Location
  • Term: September 2026 – December 2026 (4-month co-op term)
  • Compensation: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour, based on year of study, relevant experience, and internal equity
  • Schedule: 40-hour work week
  • Location: Mississauga, ON
  • Work Arrangement: 5 days per week in-office
