As a VDC Technician at RK, you’ll be at the starting point of transforming ideas into reality. This role is hands-on with 3D modeling software, supporting project teams by building and maintaining accurate models, updating drawings, and assisting with trade coordination. It’s the perfect opportunity to develop your technical skills, learn directly from Specialists and Coordinators, and gain exposure to the full virtual design and construction process. Position Summary

The VDC Technician’s fundamental role is the output of a variety of detailed drawings necessary to pre-fabricate and install the scope of work called for in the contract documents. 

Role Responsibilities
  • Provide shop drawings for approval by the engineer and field team.  

  • Production of annotated & dimensioned shop use. 

  • Cleaning up as well as the set up of model files for use in coordination. 

  • Has good organizational and time manage skills to complete projects in a timely manner. 

  • Maintain VDC Task Schedule calendar to make sure all project and done on time. 

  • Proficient in Revit. 

  • QC model against project documents for discrepancies. 

  • Create and maintain project-specific content to ensure they are consistently aligned with instructions, guidelines, in-house standards 

  • Other duties as assigned. 
 
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of skills and experience. 

  • Experience in VDC/BIM, Drafting, and the field is preferred.

  • Able to perform administrative or technical responsibilities.  

  • Requires judgment or initiative in resolving issues and making recommendations. 

  • Firm grasp of mathematics, engineering, and industry information.  

  • Must coordinate own tasks with a specific range of responsibilities under established procedures. 

  • Ability to collaborate with others to solve problems and ability to maintain positive relationships.
