Primary Goal: The Senior Software Engineer collaborates with and reports directly to the CTO organization. In this role, they are responsible for developing and improving upon product capabilities for GLOBO’s product suite, as well as the underlying platform that supports it. This work involves carrying projects end-to-end from ideation to deployment and scaling, working with the broader development team to ensure the stability and scalability of these product capabilities.

Leveraging their experience, passion, and curiosity, the Senior Software Engineer will help GLOBO’s team continue to evolve product, platform, and tooling. They should be aggressive in pushing for new and novel approaches when appropriate, raising the bar for the whole team as GLOBO continues to grow into a market leader.

This role is for a candidate who can own a project independently and drive the desired outcomes, without being reliant on a dogmatic process or someone to hand them a perfect blueprint.


Responsibilities:


  • Develop new product capabilities and improve upon existing ones
  • Build processes and tools to help diagnose and resolve bugs to ensure our external and internal customers have the best experience possible
  • Leverage agentic coding tools to accelerate development and help build processes that allow us to put more effort into high leverage use cases
  • Monitor, diagnose and resolve performance issues in our product suite
  • Perform code reviews and mentor other team members on best practices and positively influence their career development
  • Improve our overall developer experience by helping to create tools and processes that make developing on our platform easier, safer, and faster


Required Minimum Education and Experience:


  • Experience and expert level knowledge in the following:
  • Ruby/Ruby on Rails
  • PostgreSQL
  • AWS
  • JavaScript
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
  • 3+ years of experience developing online, scale software
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively verbally and in writing
