This is a fully onsite position located in Phoenix, AZ.

U-Haul International, Inc is seeking a Software Developer to:

  • Design, develop, enhance, and modernize ABAP applications to align with evolving business needs while taking ownership of ABAP components and application areas
  • Build new scalable, high-performance solutions for integrated software applications and systems.
  • Execute application development projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and standards. Execute efforts to modernize systems, ensuring optimal performance, maintainability, and scalability.
  • Develop and implement integrations with external systems and custom middleware solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and design effective integration solutions.
  • Customize and adapt existing applications to meet evolving business demands and enhance functionality.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues to ensure system stability and seamless user experiences.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, artifacts, for all development efforts.
  • Engage clearly and proactively with stakeholders to provide regular updates on project progress, address potential concerns, and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes, methodologies, and team workflows.
  • Provide technical direction and mentorship to junior developers, fostering a culture of learning and excellence.
  • Ensure clear documentation for knowledge transfer and ongoing application maintenance.
  • Conduct regular code reviews to maintain high-quality standards and adherence to best practices.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Information Systems, Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field and five years of experience involving each of the following:

  • ABAP Core Technologies - ABAP Workbench, ABAP Data Dictionary, Report Programming, Data Migration, Screen Programming, Authorizations, Smart forms, Adobe Forms, ALE/IDOC and Performance Tuning;
  • Developing web applications using SOA;
  • JavaScript, jQuery;
  • Application lifecycle management, including design, development, deployment, and maintenance;
  • Debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving complex technical issues;
  • Software development using SAP ABAP applications;
  • Using versioning control to manage code changesets, and deliverables with application lifecycle or support applications.
