The Job At-A-Glance:
Q2 is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead our Software Delivery team, responsible for the platforms, automation, and insights that enable software delivery across our engineering organization.
In this role, you'll lead a team of full-stack engineers responsible for advancing release orchestration, release intelligence, and engineering workflow automation. You will partner closely with Product, Architecture, Platform Engineering, and Development teams to improve how software is planned, coordinated, and delivered at enterprise scale. Success requires balancing operational excellence with long-term product and platform evolution while influencing stakeholders across multiple engineering organizations.
This is an opportunity to shape the future of Software Delivery at Q2. You'll lead a team building products that engineers rely on every day while helping define how software delivery evolves across one of the industry's leading fintech platforms.
A Typical Day:
  • Lead and develop a high-performing engineering team; own hiring, coaching, career development, and execution against strategic and operational outcomes.
  • Own the product vision, roadmap, and delivery of Q2's Software Delivery platforms, including release orchestration, release visibility, and engineering workflow capabilities; define strategic direction and prioritize investments that improve software delivery across the organization.
  • Partner across Product, Architecture, Development, Platform Engineering, Infrastructure, and Security to coordinate dependencies, remove delivery roadblocks, manage risk, and drive alignment that enables predictable, low-friction software delivery.
  • Ensure the reliable execution of client software updates through mature automation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement while creating capacity for continued investment in strategic platform capabilities.
  • Build and evolve scalable systems that provide actionable release intelligence, operational visibility, and engineering insights that improve decision-making across software delivery.
  • Lead the evolution of software delivery practices through progressive delivery, engineering self-service, workflow automation, and other innovations that improve engineering productivity and customer experience.

Bring Your Passion, Do What You Love. Here's What We're Looking For:
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 6 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with 4+ years of experience
  • Proven ability to build, develop, and lead high-performing engineering teams
  • Deep systems thinking-can design and reason about complex, interconnected platforms and tooling
  • Track record translating complexity into clear technical direction and measurable outcomes
  • Product thinking: balances technical excellence with business impact
  • Experience building or operating software delivery platforms, release orchestration, or developer self-service tooling preferred
  • Enterprise-scale deployment and system reliability experience preferred
  • Comfortable in ambiguous, high-growth environments; able to translate complexity into clear team direction and measurable outcomes
