What You'll Be Doing:

  • Developing creative and innovative solutions for complex roadway and civil engineering challenges, selecting the most efficient and economical methods to achieve project objectives.
  • Ensuring designs comply with Federal, State, and local agency requirements, as well as industry standards and best practices.
  • Preparing specifications, cost estimates, quantity calculations, technical reports, and detailed engineering analyses.
  • Reviewing supplier drawing submittals and performing technical bid analyses.
  • Assisting in the preparation and issuance of specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
  • Contributing to intermediate to large-scale projects as part of a project team or as a design engineer.

What Required Qualifications You'll Bring:

  • Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Civil Engineering or a related field, with at least two years of coursework completed.
  • Prior coursework in transportation, roadway, or structural engineering.
  • Strong interest and ability to work on multiple road and highway projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools and fundamental knowledge of CAD software (MicroStation and Geopak or ORD preferred).
  • Familiarity with industry standards and applicable engineering software.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

What Preferred Qualifications You'll Bring:

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
  • Prior internship experience in civil or roadway engineering.
