Job Title: Junior Application Developer Job Category: Information Technology Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: TS/SCI with Polygraph Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: Up to 10% Type of Travel: Continental US Anticipated Posting End: 12/31/2026 The Opportunity: Launch your development career on a fast-paced Agile team building GEOINT applications for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). Contribute to modern web-based software that directly supports national security missions. Gain hands-on experience with GIS technologies, cloud-native architectures, and large-scale data environments.

Learn from experienced developers and architects invested in growing your skills. Responsibilities: Develop, test, and maintain application features under the guidance of senior developers. Implement web application functionality using Java and/or Python and modern frameworks.

Support integration of application components with APIs, services, and databases. Assist with GIS-enabled feature development and geospatial service enhancements. Participate in code reviews, unit testing, debugging, and documentation.

Apply secure coding practices and follow established engineering standards. Contribute within sprint cycles as part of a cross-functional Agile team. Qualifications: Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline (equivalent experience accepted).

0-3 years of professional software development experience. Experience developing software using Java, Python, or both (academic, internship, or professional). Familiarity with web application development concepts and technologies.

Understanding of relational databases and basic data modeling principles. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively within a team. Security Clearance (TS/SCI) with willingness to undergo polygraph examination.

Desired: Exposure to GIS technologies (ArcGIS, GeoServer, OpenLayers, Cesium, or similar). Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, or containerization tools. Coursework or projects involving Agile development practices.
