Job Summary

Southern Company Services is seeking an Engineer I to support the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of electric power systems. This entry-level engineering position is ideal for recent graduates or engineers with up to five years of experience who are eager to develop their technical skills while working on utility infrastructure projects. The selected candidate will assist with engineering design, cost estimating, construction packages, and quality assurance while ensuring compliance with company and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

· Apply engineering principles to the design and construction of power system projects.

· Prepare engineering calculations, cost estimates, construction packages, and technical specifications.

· Develop design alternatives and support project planning activities.

· Review contractor designs and perform quality assurance reviews.

· Support construction and maintenance teams during project execution.

· Utilize engineering software to develop designs and technical documentation.

· Estimate project materials and assist with procurement activities.

· Ensure compliance with Southern Company engineering standards, safety requirements, and industry regulations.

· Collaborate with internal departments, contractors, and vendors to deliver successful projects.

· Promote a strong safety culture by following company policies and engineering best practices.

Required Qualifications
