Summary/Objective: *We are currently seeking Interns for SUMMER 2027.*
This role is designed to provide a hands-on learning experience in Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) within the construction industry. The intern will work closely with the VDC team and gain exposure to various aspects of construction technology.
Essential Functions: The VDC Intern will assist in the creation and modification of construction models using BIM software, support the VDC team in maintaining and managing project data, participate in team meetings, and assist with administrative tasks as needed. The Intern will also have the opportunity to observe and learn from more experienced team members, gaining insights into the practical applications of VDC in construction projects including:
  • Clash detection and conflict resolution.
  • Trade coordination (RFIs, shop drawings, as-builts, etc.)
  • Construction layout setup and field applications.
  • Drone mapping and documentation.
  • Reality Capture with high-accuracy laser scanners.
  • As-built/verification data collection with GPS.

Competencies: The ideal candidate is currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program related to Construction Management, Engineering, or a similar field. Basic knowledge of BIM software like Revit, AutoCAD, or Navisworks is preferred. The candidate should demonstrate a strong interest in construction technology and a willingness to learn and contribute to team efforts.

Work Environment: This position may be required to work in a variety of conditions relative to construction job site environments and must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job, as assigned. Exposure to weather, heat, etc. is expected. Weather and climate conditions will vary throughout the progress of a project. This role requires walking over varied terrain, climbing, stooping, bending, and lifting. Lifting requirements vary from minimal loads to heavy; but help is always available with heavier loads.
Travel Required: Travel to/from multiple jobsites, projects, and offices. Must have valid US driver's license.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance Requirements: Must be authorized to work in the United States.
