Job description

Salary:

Join Our Team at Cliniconex

Position: Software Developer (Agentic AI & Automation) - Intermediate/Senior

Reporting to:Engineering Manager

Location: Kanata, Ontario (Hybrid)

Meet Cliniconex

At Cliniconex, our focus is our customers, our community and our culture. As a small company, we understand the importance of having a team that connects effectively. Whether it's day-to-day operations or an emergency, teams need to be on the same page, and that's why we make healthcare communication and collaboration solutions that are as easy as 1,2,3. Easy to implement, easy to use and easy to scale.

Our solution reaches audiences via voice, text or email, strengthens teams with a record of all conversations, and unites a family-centred community through timely, transparent outreach. The result? More time to care.

What You'll Be Doing:

As a Software Developer, you'll join forces with our talented engineering team to help build and improve our evolving suite of products on the Automated Care Platform (ACP). At Cliniconex, we are changing how software gets built. Our engineers work hands-on with AI every day Claude and Codex are core to how we build, and AI is embedded into the products we build, not just how we build them. We're looking for a developer who is already hands-on with agentic development workflows and wants to push that way of working further.

Youll contribute across front-end, back-end, integrations, and cloud-hosted systems. Youll use agentic tools to explore unfamiliar code, break down implementation plans, build features, write tests, investigate bugs, review diffs, and validate real product behavior before it reaches users.

This is an intermediate/senior role for someone who can take a feature from an unclear problem statement through design, implementation, validation, and deployment. You ask good questions, write clearly, verify your work, and understand that AI can accelerate engineering but does not replace accountability. Your work will directly shape products that return time to care for thousands of healthcare teams across North America.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Build and improve product features across our Automated Care Platform and Automated Care Intelligence suite
  • Use Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, and other AI development tools as part of daily software delivery
  • Break down product and technical problems into clear plans that can be executed by humans, AI agents, or both
  • Review, test, and harden AI-generated code before it reaches production
  • Develop reliable front-end and back-end functionality across healthcare communication workflows
  • Build and maintain APIs, services, integrations, and automation workflows
  • Help design and ship AI-powered product features using LLMs, tool-calling, retrieval, evaluation, and human-in-the-loop patterns
  • Validate behavior through automated tests, browser testing, logs, code review, and production-minded debugging
  • Protect patient privacy and system reliability while working in a regulated healthcare environment
  • Help improve internal agentic development workflows, prompts, handoff patterns, validation loops, and engineering automation
  • Communicate clearly through GitHub, written design notes, PR reviews, handoffs, technical discussions, chat, video, and in-person collaboration

Compensation: $75,000 $120,000 per year

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, information technology, or engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • 4+ years of professional software development experience, or equivalent practical experience
  • Real experience using AI-assisted or agentic development tools in software delivery, especially Claude Code and OpenAI Codex
  • The judgment to guide AI agents, inspect their work, catch bad assumptions, and own the final result
  • Experience building web applications with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern front-end patterns
  • Backend development experience, ideally with Java; Flutter/Dart, Python, and Go skills are assets
  • Experience building or consuming REST APIs and working with cloud-hosted systems
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud, Azure, or similar cloud platforms
  • Comfort working with databases such as MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, or similar systems
  • A security- and privacy-aware mindset, especially around sensitive data
  • Clear written communication and a collaborative approach to engineering work

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Experience with agentic workflows, RAG, embeddings, evals, or model validation
  • Experience improving developer productivity through automation or internal tools
  • Experience working with healthcare data or in another regulated industry, including privacy frameworks such as PHIPA, Law 25, or HIPAA

Perks of Joining Our Team:

  • Make a Real Impact: Join a mission-driven team that's transforming patient care across North America. Your work will directly contribute to better health outcomes and meaningful change.
  • Flexible Hybrid Work Model: We believe in balance. Enjoy the best of both worlds with a mix of remote work and in-office collaboration.
  • 30 Days of Paid Time Off: Work hard, rest well. We offer a generous PTO policy to support your work-life balance - right from the start.
  • Health & Wellness Budget: Invest in your well-being with an annual budget to support your physical, mental or emotional health.
  • Internet Budget: We provide a budget for home internet expenses so you can stay connected and productive while working from home.
  • Collaborative Culture: Be part of a supportive, dynamic team where every voice is heard, and innovation thrives.
  • Growth & Development: We're committed to your success and encourage you to learn and grow your skills
  • Day-One Benefits & Flexibility: Enjoy comprehensive benefits on your first day!

If you're ready to work hands-on with agentic AI and help build products that make a real difference in healthcare, then this is your moment.
