What you’ll do:

We are looking for a talented Software Developer in Test to join the Retail Onboarding and Growth Journey team to build customer faced interactive web applications. We are a highly collaborative environment where you are encouraged to seek out engagement with team members.  You must be able to coach others as well as be open to receiving coaching.  

  • Pursue strong engineering practices through a culture of continuous improvement
  • Share in the vision of the product and drive team towards that vision
  • Responsible for estimating, coordinating and directing testing for multiple products/projects
  • Software quality assurance on highly complex and/or multiple projects through manual and automated testing using industry standard tools leveraging agile project methodologies
  • Contribute to product development by doing minor bug fixes and handling production support requests
  • Pair with full stack developer during active development phase to ensure Schwab coding standards and best practices are followed
  • Stay abreast of user feedback by attending and reviewing UX Research sessions
  • Develop with the user in mind and have a clear understanding of what KBI we are targeting with each ticket
  • Follow the principles of agile and focus on incremental delivery
  • Actively participate in discovery and experimentation sessions, working closely with other engineers and product team members to discover a strong solution
  • Be at the forefront of evolving the way we work across teams and the company by incorporating design thinking, a multi-channel approach, and end to end collaboration
  • Implement test practices, standards and processes, troubleshoot test issues, record test results, track and prioritize defects, participate in product readiness and release decisions
  • Establish fact-based measures of test efficiency, effectiveness and product readiness
  • Take part in application deployment to production and ensure the deployment is successful
  • Accountable for test environment stability and test data manifestation in various non-prod regions
What you have

Required Qualifications:

  • A passion for digital innovation and commitment to superb client experience
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related discipline with an information technology focus or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with unit testing patterns (TDD/BDD) and methodologies
  • Effective relationship builder--ability to partner cross-functionally, cross-enterprise and work effectively with various levels of the organization as well as various personality types
  • Mastery of one or more test automation tools/ framework:
  • Test Libraries: Protractor, Selenium, or WebDriver.io
  • Test Framework: Ruby, Cucumber, Specflow, TestNG, NUnit, or XUnit
  • At least 2 years of hands-on knowledge in test automation using Selenium or WebDriver.IO or Protractor using Cucumber framework
  • Strong programming skills in one or more Object Oriented programming languages like C#, JAVA or C++
  • Familiarity with web application development using frameworks like MVC, Angular etc.
  • Familiar with REST API development and test development for REST
  • Experience with Agile and being a part of a scrum team
  • Understanding of patterns and practice
  • Ability to troubleshoot environmental issues
  • Ability to conceptualize the best tactical approach for a team to deliver a project

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to solve issues that are frontend/backend and understand the problem and single handedly able to provide creative solutions.
  • CI/CD experience with Bamboo
