Job description

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior SDET Architect to lead enterprise-scale automation initiatives for digital platforms and services. This role is ideal for a hands-on automation leader with deep expertise in Java, Playwright, TypeScript, API automation.

The candidate will play a key role in driving Automation COE initiatives, establishing scalable test frameworks, improving engineering quality standards, and enabling secure CI/CD delivery pipelines across web, API, and mobile platforms.

This position requires strong architectural thinking, leadership capabilities, and hands-on coding experience in modern automation technologies.


Key Responsibilities

SDET Architecture

  • Define and drive enterprise automation strategy across web, mobile, API, and backend systems
  • Build reusable automation frameworks and accelerator libraries using Java, Playwright, and TypeScript
  • Establish best practices, coding standards, reporting standards, and governance models for Automation COE
  • Mentor QA engineers and SDETs on framework design, automation patterns, and quality engineering practices
  • Lead automation maturity initiatives and improve overall test coverage and execution efficiency

Test Automation Engineering

  • Design and develop scalable test automation solutions for UI, API, integration, and end-to-end testing
  • Build robust Playwright automation frameworks using TypeScript and Java
  • Develop automated regression suites integrated with CI/CD pipelines
  • Implement cross-browser and cross-platform automation strategies
  • Improve automation reliability, reporting, parallel execution, and flaky test reduction

API & Backend Validation

  • Create scalable API automation frameworks using REST Assured/Postman/custom libraries
  • Validate microservices architecture, backend integrations, authentication flows, and data integrity
  • Perform contract testing and service virtualization where required

Mobile & Platform Testing

  • Support mobile automation using Appium for Android and iOS platforms
  • Collaborate with engineering and platform teams to validate release readiness across environments

Required Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in QA Automation / SDET Engineering
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Java
  • Extensive experience with Playwright and TypeScript
  • Strong experience building enterprise automation frameworks from scratch
  • Expertise in API automation and backend validation
