UNCOMN is seeking a motivated and collaborative Software Developer 2 (Associate) to join our growing development team. In this role, you will help design, build, test, and maintain modern applications using Java, Microsoft Azure, and Agile development practices. This is an excellent opportunity for a developer who enjoys solving problems, learning new technologies, and contributing to mission-focused solutions in a team-oriented environment.
What You’ll Do
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications using Java and Microsoft Azure technologies.
  • Build, enhance, and support RESTful APIs and backend services.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, development, deployment, and ongoing support.
  • Collaborate with product owners, QA teams, and engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following established best practices.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance.
  • Create and manage detailed Jira tickets while supporting a shared Agile workflow.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Contribute to peer code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in software development, workflow analysis, stakeholder collaboration, and Agile environments.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a Secret clearance, granted by the U.S. Government, which requires U.S. citizenship. The government also uses 13 adjudicative guidelines to determine an individual's eligibility.
  • Experience developing backend services and working with RESTful APIs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset focused on delivering effective solutions.
  • Willingness to obtain relevant certifications based on future client or contract requirements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
