Position Overview
Plainfield Community Middle School is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable Head Softball Coach to lead our student-athletes. The ideal candidate will foster athletic excellence, sportsmanship, and personal growth while building a competitive and positive team culture.
Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and conduct daily practices and game strategies.
  • Teach core softball mechanics, field strategy, and physical conditioning.
  • Maintain team discipline, promote good sportsmanship, and foster academic accountability.
  • Manage equipment, team rosters, and game-day logistics in coordination with the Athletic Director.
  • Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, school staff, and community members.
  • Ensure compliance with all state athletic association, district, and school rules.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Previous coaching experience (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of softball rules, fundamentals, and safety guidelines.
  • Valid CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications (or ability to obtain before season start).
  • Completion of required state athletic coaching certifications and background check.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
