The Prince George's County Department of Social Services is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill a Fiscal Clerk (Community Developer 1G) position grade G18 within its Child Adult Family Services Division. About the Position This is entry level professional work in the areas of (1) community liaison/development/advocacy or (2) social services work among client populations (e.g., youth, aged, community action, housing development, health, etc.). Incumbents participate in the collection, analysis and summarization of data relating to the administration of the program to which assigned

Work is performed under close supervision of a higher-level Community Developer or other supervisory position. Work performance is evaluated in terms of accuracy and compliance with established guidelines and procedures. About The Agency The Prince George's County Department of Social Services (PGCDSS) is the primary human services provider in the county, operating as a local agency of the Maryland Department of Human Services.

The Department provides opportunities for eligible residents to become independent, responsible, and stable members of the community through public benefit assistance programs. The Department also provides direct support for the safety, permanency, and well-being of children and vulnerable adults living in the county, investigating and addressing instances of suspected abuse or neglect. The work of PGCDSS is done in an effort to build stronger communities, one family at a time.

Examples of Work Review and analyze invoices for accurate reconciliation. Process daycare, mentoring, tutoring, transportation, and kinship reimbursement invoices and receipts timely and accurately. Daycare processing - average 50 children served per month, submission volume varies, depending on whether vendors invoice the agency monthly, weekly, or bi-weekly.

Mentoring processing - average 30 youth and families served, approximately 20 submissions weekly, the remainder are submitted monthly. Tutoring processing - average 15 submissions per month. Transportation processing - average 30 submissions per month.

Kinship reimbursement processing - average 20 submissions per month (each submission includes an average of 5-10 receipts that must be analyzed to ensure eligible purchases are included and tax is excluded). Complete data entry of CJAMS invoice submissions to Finance on the dedicated CAFS spreadsheet. Monitor dedicated invoicing email.

Facilitate the addition of new vendors into agency systems. Communicate with vendors to establish and maintain quality customer service. Resolve vendor inquiries and complaints.

Collaborate with the Finance Department to ensure timely payment and troubleshoot issues. Stay up to date on relevant fiscal policy updates. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Business or Public Administration, Social Service, Sociology, Psychology, or a closely related field.

Responsible work experience which includes coordination of group activities, preferably including work with disadvantaged individuals. Must possess and maintain a valid Class C driver's license. An equivalent combination of education, experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.
