Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments through interviews, observations, and reviewing relevant medical records to evaluate the emotional and social factors affecting students' well-being.
• Provide individualized counseling and emotional support to students and their families, helping them with adjustment issues, anxiety, and other mental health concerns.
• Collaborate closely with educators, school counselors, and other rehabilitation professionals to develop tailored treatment plans that take into account each student’s unique psychosocial needs.
• Assist students in navigating and accessing community resources, including support groups, vocational rehabilitation options, and housing assistance when necessary.
• Progressively enhance the understanding of community resources available to families, ensuring continuity of care and ongoing support post-rehabilitation.
• Engage actively in discharge planning processes to smoothly transition students to their home life or other care settings, equipping them with essential resources for continued support.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on students who require psychological and social support as part of their rehabilitation journey. You will work with diverse cases, including those with emotional disorders, developmental delays, and the effects of traumatic experiences. Through compassionate care and a thorough understanding of student needs, you will play an essential role in their ability to reintegrate successfully into their academic environments and communities.

Qualifications

• A professionally accredited Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) with a specific emphasis on mental health or clinical practice.
• An active license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Kansas.
• Strong analytical skills to assess patient needs effectively and create actionable treatment plans.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to foster trust and rapport with students and their families.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience working in educational or rehabilitation settings, particularly with children and adolescents.
• A deep understanding of psychosocial interventions and adjustment issues related to school-aged populations.
• Familiarity with local community resources that support mental health and social services.

Compensation and Benefits
