Job description

Areas of Responsibility and Job Requirements:

Manage social service programs including the budgeting, planning, implementation, and monitoring of specific programs across the portfolio as well as liaising with relevant nonprofit organizations. Oversees Coordinators as part of the Social Service team onsite.ย  Ensures that team complies with HUD regulations.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

ย 

  • Supervises Social Services Coordinators.
  • Provides general case management and referral services
  • Attends weekly and monthly case management meetings as assigned
  • Serves as a liaison to community agencies, network with community providers, and seek out new services available to clients
  • Maintains a Resource Directory that includes a listing of state and/or local service providers that residents can contact for assistance.
  • Maintains current and consistent service delivery notes
  • Initiates and set goals for programs according to the strategic objectives of the organization
  • Plans the programs from start to completion involving deadlines, milestones, and processes
  • Devises evaluation strategies to monitor performance and determine the need for improvements related to programs
  • Discovers ways to enhance efficiency and productivity of procedures and people
  • Ensures program operations and activities adhere to legal guidelines and internal policies.
  • Prepares detailed and accurate reports
  • Assists Director of Social Services as needed
  • Coordinate the programs and their interdependencies between properties
  • Manage the program documentation including but not limited to the program initiation documentation
  • Assist with various initiatives under the direction of senior management
  • Builds and establishes strategic relationships with community groups.
  • Works closely with our property management team to enhance lives of the residents of the communities where we build through company investment.
  • Works directly with residents as well as internal departments (property management, leasing, compliance, etc.) and to resolve various tenant related issues
  • Manage staffing schedule of program.

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in social work required
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Social Work, or related field, preferred

Minimum Years of Experience Required:

  • 5+ years within the social service field

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Proven management skills.
  • Understanding of project management.
  • Ability to effectively interact with a diverse tenant population and other stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Proven experience in program management within residential tenant environment, preferred
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to proactively anticipate and solve problems, preferred

Competencies/Essential Job Functions:

This position consists mainly of medium physical work. The position may require exertion of up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

The incumbent is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures (i.e., security guard, inspections, reports, etc.).

  • This role frequently requires the incumbent to reach objects, engage in repetitive movements with the wrist, hands, and fingers by typing; feel and touch objects with fingers, palm, and hands.
  • The role also requires incumbent to talk and hear, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken work and the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make distinctions in sound.
  • The role occasionally requires the incumbent to stand for sustained periods of time; walking and/or moving about on foot to accomplish tasks particularly for long distances; moving from one work site to another or occasionally in narrow aisles, hallways, or passageways; expected to climb, stoop, push, pull, grasp, lift up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment:

This position will be occasionally subject to both indoor and outdoor environmental conditions and temperature changes (extreme cold or extreme heat) with or without effective protection from the weather.

The incumbent may occasionally be subject to noise sufficient to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the noise.
