Job description

Coordinate intake, orientation, and admission of clients into the Adoption/Reunification/Kinship (ARK) Program.

Assess information about the client's biopsychosocial history and current functioning.

Evaluate the needs of the client for the purpose of Adoption, Reunification, and Kinship Services.

Develop and monitor a case plan for each client.

Evaluate the progress of each client.

Work with foster parents to create supportive relationships with birth parents and relative caregivers.

Make referrals and work with other community resources as needed.

Advocate for the service needs of children and their foster families for the purpose of adoption, reunification, and kinship care.

Maintain case records in an updated and efficient manner in compliance with ABCH Standards.

Work in a cooperative relationship with the assigned ABCH Foster Care Social Workers and DHR and under the supervision of the ARK Foster Care Specialist.

Promote the Ministry relations and be a liaison with local churches and associations.

Represent the Ministry's vision and mission to groups, individuals, and referring agencies in a professional and objective manner.

Work in a cooperative relationship with the legal system by representing the Ministry.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work from a college or university accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

Current license to practice Social Work issued by the Alabama State Board of Social Work Examiners, or license eligible.

Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
