MANAGER of GLOBAL SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY – METROPOLITAN PARK NEW YORK

Role Description

Overview: To manage the Queens/New York presence for Hard Rock International’s Global Social Responsibility (GSR) team, including three operational programs, community partnerships, and communications. This manager is an internal and external representative for the company in Queens and New York City focused on developing/managing relationships with local community partners, and providing links to national and international partners; adapting existing programs for Hard Rock Metropolitan Park in advance of the property opening; building program capacity; playing a role in communications and social responsibility aspects of brand reputation.

Responsibilities: duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead local Queens/New York program development efforts for three operational programs – responsible gambling (PlayersEdge), anti-human trafficking, and environmental sustainability (Save The Planet); the initial priorities will focus on responsible gambling
  • Represent Hard Rock and manage relationships and projects with local community partners and researchers
  • Contribute to managing the company’s commitments with regulatory agencies
  • Contribute to social responsibility communications and marketing
  • This work includes managing and analyzing program data, organizing and leading operational elements and communications in Queens/New York
  • Contribute to strategy development, continuous improvement, and evaluation of program performance 
  • Develop team member engagement strategies: lead meetings by developing agendas, content materials, and scheduling; ensure compliance reporting based on requirements of program; collaborate with other departments in New York and with Hard Rock’s corporate team, including quality assurance, brand standards, design/construction, communications and marketing, and operations
  • Maintains the organization's mission, vision, and values; and upholds and operates in accordance with statutes, regulations, and corporate visual identity on documents, websites, and social media
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Role-specific skills:
  • Integrative thinker who can understand, plan and deliver on program strategy, combining business and social responsibility objectives and outcomes; experience and comfort with working across multiple disciplines
  • Specialized knowledge and experience in social responsibility and related disciplines which include: research, quantitative data analysis, project management, marketing, communications, and public reporting. Consideration will be given to experience in the field of responsible gambling specifically
  • Ability to work in complex multi-stakeholder environments, across all parts of the company and community partners to devise solutions that support a range of stakeholders often in sensitive interdependent relationships, including highly expert groups and independent research sources
  • Beneficial to have knowledge of and experience in gaming, hotel, cafe business operations, compliance, along with an understanding of the related social responsibility needs of those sectors, along with Hard Rock International and Seminole Gaming corporate environments
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills to create high quality documents and deliver effective briefings for a range of internal and external audiences
  • Strong analytical and data knowledge and skills
  • Knowledge of operating in highly regulated environments, and with third party standards, and in contexts shaped by government policies.

General Qualifications:

  • High school education or equivalent, undergraduate degree
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in social responsibility, or a related field. Consideration will be given to qualified candidates with a social responsibility background who also have experience in gaming and hospitality operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software systems.
  • General knowledge about operations, management, IT, analytics, change management, project management.
  • Sound interpersonal judgment, discretion and decision-making skills, professionalism, political acuity, communications and ability to deal directly with guests, vendors, senior leaders across corporate office, properties, the Seminole Tribe of Florida, a wide range of community stakeholders, and team members at all levels.
  • Flexible approach to work and time schedules, as needed, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Pay Range:

$100,000 - $146,300/Salary
