Ready to inspire the next generation of thinkers and changemakers? Join Cross Country Education as a History or Social Justice Teacher in the Bronx, NY, and help middle and high school students develop critical thinking skills while exploring the people, events, and issues that have shaped our world.
Available Positions: 

  • 6th Grade History
  • 8th-9th Grade Social Justice

Position Overview 

  • Provide engaging, standards-aligned instruction in History and Social Justice to middle and high school students.
  • Develop and deliver lessons that encourage critical thinking, strong reading and writing skills, and meaningful discussion of history, civil rights, and social issues.
  • Create a positive, structured classroom environment that promotes student engagement, academic growth, and a love of learning.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators and school staff to support student success and contribute to a strong school community.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Valid New York State Teaching Certification (Preferred)
    • Non-certified candidates must have at least 12 college credits in History, Social Studies, ELA, or a related subject area and must submit a copy of their transcript
  • 1+ years of teaching experience in History, Social Studies, ELA, or a related subject area at the middle or high school level, preferably in an urban school setting
