Lead Social Worker / Mental Health Therapist (LCSW, LCMHC, LMFT)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Lead Therapist to join a growing behavioral health team in Raleigh, North Carolina. This leadership role provides individual, family, and group therapy services within a structured Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) setting while supporting clinical operations and mentoring associate-level clinicians and interns.
The ideal candidate is passionate about evidence-based mental health treatment, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is experienced in managing high-acuity cases and leading multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Care
Conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions based on client needs.
Complete psychosocial evaluations, screenings, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
Facilitate specialized groups based on training and expertise.
Utilize effective crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
Leadership and Program Support
Assist with the development and coordination of clinical programming and schedules.
Oversee weekly group assignments and ensure balanced therapist workloads.
Provide clinical coverage in the absence of the Executive Director, including admission precertification and urgent clinical decision-making.
Supervision and Mentorship
Provide mentorship and supervision to associate-level clinicians and interns.
Guide clinicians through case consultations and complex treatment planning.
Foster professional development and support growth within the clinical team.
Required Qualifications:
Active North Carolina licensure in one of the following: LCSW, LCMHC, LMFT
Experience working in higher levels of behavioral health care, including: Inpatient Psychiatry, Residential Treatment, Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP)
Strong experience managing high-risk cases, including: Suicidal ideation, Self-harm behaviors, Homicidal ideation, Psychosis, Substance Use Disorders
Minimum of 4 years of experience working in mental health field
Knowledge of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) principles and psychoeducation
