About the Role

Soccer Stars is looking for an experienced soccer professional who is passionate about developing coaches and creating exceptional experiences for young athletes.

Whether you played competitively growing up, competed in college, currently coach, or simply have a strong understanding of the game, this role gives you the opportunity to help shape the next generation of youth soccer coaches.

You'll work alongside our Coaching Operations Manager to observe coaches in the field, lead trainings, mentor staff, evaluate coaching performance, and ensure every Soccer Stars class delivers an engaging, age-appropriate, and high-quality experience.

Soccer Stars is the leading youth soccer program for children ages 12 months to 13 years on Long Island and in Eastern Queens. We provide fun, energetic, age-appropriate soccer classes, camps, and clinics in schools, parks, community centers, and sports facilities throughout the region.

Our mission is to help children build confidence, develop athletic skills, and fall in love with the game of soccer. We take pride in our creative curriculum, positive coaching style, and ability to create a lasting impact on every child we coach.

What You’ll Do

Lead Soccer Coach Development
  • Lead soccer-specific training sessions for new and existing coaches.
  • Observe coaches during classes and provide constructive written and verbal feedback.
  • Evaluate coaches on communication, class management, player engagement, enthusiasm, professionalism, and soccer instruction.
  • Mentor coaches in the field and serve as a trusted resource for curriculum, class structure, and coaching best practices.
  • Demonstrate best practices by coaching classes regularly and using those sessions as training opportunities.
  • Help coaches better understand our age-specific curriculum and coaching philosophy.
  • Support individual development plans for coaches who need additional guidance.
  • Identify high-performing coaches and support their continued growth.
  • Fill coaching vacancies as needed to ensure consistent program delivery.
Ensure Outstanding Program Quality
  • Visit classes, camps, and clinics throughout Long Island and Eastern Queens.
  • Ensure coaches deliver fun, energetic, developmentally appropriate soccer sessions that align with the Soccer Stars methodology.
  • Help maintain strong coaching standards across all programs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve program quality before issues arise.
  • Address coaching-related feedback from parents and partners professionally and promptly.
  • Represent Soccer Stars with a positive, professional, and energetic presence at every location.
Support Coaching Operations
  • Assist with coach scheduling to ensure proper staffing across classes, camps, and clinics.
  • Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training of new coaches.
  • Maintain records of coach evaluations, feedback, and development plans.
  • Ensure coaches follow company policies, procedures, and curriculum standards.
  • Communicate with coaches, families, and partners as needed regarding coaching-related matters.
Equipment & Logistics
  • Track, manage, and distribute coaching equipment across program locations.
  • Maintain accurate equipment inventory.
  • Ensure coaches have the materials and gear needed for their sessions.
  • Support equipment storage, maintenance, replacement, and retrieval.

We’re looking for someone who has a genuine passion for soccer and enjoys helping others become better coaches.

  • Former club soccer players
  • High school varsity players
  • College soccer players
  • Current or former youth soccer coaches
  • Assistant coaches
  • Referees with a strong understanding of the game
  • Physical Education teachers with a soccer background
  • Sports Management, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or Recreation graduates with soccer experience
Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of soccer through playing, coaching, officiating, or other competitive experience.
  • Experience coaching, teaching, mentoring, or leading youth programs preferred.
  • Soccer playing experience at the youth, high school, collegiate, or professional level is highly valued but not required.
  • Ability to recognize strong coaching and help others improve.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable giving constructive feedback.
  • Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, including Gmail, Calendar, Docs, and Sheets.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout Long Island and Eastern Queens.
  • Evening and weekend availability required.
