Job description

Job Title: Sr. SOA Integration Engineer

Client: LA Care
Location: Los Angeles, CA (Remote – PST Hours Required)
Employment Type: 6-Month Contract
Experience Level: Senior (7–10+ Years)

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Sr. SOA Integration Engineer to design, build, and maintain SOA integration solutions as part of the Enterprise Integration Services team. This role requires close collaboration with architecture, application, infrastructure, and business teams, focusing on high-quality delivery of BPEL, ESB, and BAM-based services on the Oracle SOA Suite 12c platform. A strong background in Java development, batch processing, SQL, and healthcare domain knowledge will be key to success.

This is a remote position, but the candidate must be available to work in the Pacific Time Zone (PST) and demonstrate excellent communication and team collaboration skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement SOA/BPEL/BAM solutions using Oracle SOA Suite 12c.
  • Integrate event-driven, batch, and Master Data components into the Enterprise Service Bus.
  • Analyze business and technical requirements to create canonical data models and scalable service interfaces.
  • Collaborate across teams to understand functional needs and transform them into high-quality integration services.
  • Develop and support Oracle PL/SQL and/or SQL Server batch processes to support integration flows.
  • Write and maintain Java applications that interact with the SOA platform and backend services.
  • Lead technical resources and provide mentorship and guidance on best practices in SOA development.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize integration performance across various components.
  • Ensure compliance with industry and organizational standards, including in the healthcare domain.
  • Support testing, deployment, and documentation of all developed integration solutions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business IT, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience designing and implementing Oracle PL/SQL or SQL Server batch processes.
  • 7+ years of Java development experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle SOA Suite 12c (ESB, BPEL, BAM).
  • Expertise in SOA principles, message queues, and process orchestration patterns.
  • Demonstrated experience in creating and maintaining canonical models.
  • Proficiency in working across multiple database platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, NoSQL).
  • Experience in translating business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Healthcare domain experience is strongly preferred.

  • Adaptability to shifting priorities and fast-paced environments.
  • Experience in remote, distributed team collaboration.
