We're hiring a Transportation Administrative Assistant at Old Faithful Snow Lodge and Mammoth Hot Springs. Experience the "secret season" of Yellowstone - an unforgettable winter adventure awaits!

Job Summary:

This role blends administrative oversight with hands-on duties. It involves managing daily operations, assisting dispatchers, guiding tours, and maintaining equipment. The position requires skills in leadership, safety management, and customer service, while ensuring smooth operation of snowmobile tourism activities.

The Details:Position Type: SeasonalSeason Dates: Early December 2026 - Mid March 2027Pay: $17.50/hourlySchedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily administrative operations of the snowmobile program, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow

  • Support Dispatchers with daily tasks such as payroll processing, statistical reporting, scheduling, troubleshooting vehicle issues, managing radio communications, and coordinating vehicle transfers and rescues

  • Perform all duties required of a Snowmobile Guide, including leading tours and ensuring guest safety

  • Assist with administrative check-ins for snowmobile users, including suiting up guests, completing required paperwork, and delivering safety briefings

  • Participate in snowmobile, snowcoach, and wheeled vehicle rescue operations as needed

  • Accurately complete and submit all required paperwork, including accident reports, in a timely manner

  • Maintain and log all vehicle damage, collaborating with mechanics and dispatchers to arrange necessary repairs

  • Conduct NPS-mandated administrative snowmobile training sessions for Xanterra employees, ensuring compliance and safety standards are met

  • Manage inventory of snowmobile gear and supplies, restock first aid kits, maintain the oil shed, and track daily fuel usage for all snowmobile operations

Physical Requirements include:

  • Sitting for periods of 3 hours or more
  • Able to lift/carry up to 30 pounds
  • Bending, kneeling, stretching, walking and reaching
  • Able to climb flights of stairs multiple times per day
  • Ability to work in elevations exceeding 7000ft
