Position Summary

Professional, fun, energeticindividualswith good organization and communication skillsableto teach skiing and snowboarding to childrenand adults.Due to the nature of our business,more children take lessons; therefore,theapplicant must enjoy working with children of all ages and abilities.PSIA or AASI certification or a background working with childrenisa plus.Must have a passion forSnowsportsand the mountain environment.Must be able to work outside in all conditions.Shouldbe able to ski or snowboard at abeginnerlevel andhavetheirown equipment.The length of lessonsrangesfrom2-6.5hours,and it is expected youcanteach all day.

Job offers are contingent on a background check, schedule availability,andon-snow training participation.

Essential Duties & Major Responsibilities

• Teach skiingor snowboardingtoall ages of guests(from 3 years old to adults).

• Responsible for developing a logical lesson planforgueststo have a positive and successful learning experience.

• Foster a 'stoke' for the sport through encouraging praise, high energy, and fun lessons.

• Lessons must be professional and organized while following proper safety procedures.

• While coaching children, an instructorisresponsible fortheir students at all times during the lesson,including during lunch and breaks.

• Must attend trainingsessions throughout the season tomaintaindepartment standards, improve teachingskills,anddevelop personalskiing and snowboardingskills.

• Shouldbe availableto workall holidays and weekends.

• Must be able to remain outside in all conditions during lessons in proper equipment.

• Instructorsare responsible forend-of-lessonreporting, including a verbal discussion withtheguestorparents ofthestudent, andoptionalcompletion of a digital report card.

Secondary Function

• Operatesurface lift andassistwith support staff duties.

• Assistancewith teaching area set up and removal of signs, fencing,and props.

• Help other departments as requested.

• During heavysnowfalls,everyonewill be asked to help with snow removal.

Job Scope

To instruct guestsin accordance withMt.Bachelor'sandPSIA-AASI guiding principles and training.Tomaintaina safe and fun learning environment for guestsof all ages.

Interpersonal Contacts

Instructorsmust be able to work in a group environment both within the departmentandthe mountain as a whole.Instructorsmust have strong guest service and communication skillstodevelop a working partnership with guests and parents.

Specific Job Skills

• License/Certification: PSIA, AASI certification a plus.

• Technical: Ability to ski/ridebeginnerterrain.AChild Development backgroundisa plus.

• Physical Capabilities: Has theabilityto remain outside in all conditions forlong periodsof time.Must be physically capable of being on skis or a snowboard and wear ski or snowboard boots for the entire lesson.

• Additional: Applicant must own their own equipment. Due to the sensitive nature of this position, a criminal background check will be conducted aftertheposition is accepted. This background check will be donein accordance withstandards enacted under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Education/Related Experience

• Minimum Education: High School or Equivalent Work Experience (preferred).

• Minimum time in related position: Experience teaching, coaching, or in child development preferred but not required.
