Your Future Role:
An irrigation specialist (technician) works throughout the year installing, maintaining and repairing irrigation systems. This is a physically active role that allows you to work outside year round. This position works on both commercial and residential properties independently and as part of a team. An irrigation specialist is a vital role that ensures our irrigation systems are working properly and efficiently while ultimately keeping our properties looking their best. This position is responsible for completing additional activities including maintenance, enhancements and snow removal.
Your Specific Job Responsibilities:
  • Upholds Moana Nursery's strict safety policies
  • Works both independently
  • Shuts down and turns on commercial and residential irrigation systems
  • Maintains efficient irrigation system (backflow devices, irrigation controllers, valves, sprinklers, drip tubing, etc.)
  • Properly sets irrigation controllers creating efficient run schedules
  • Identifies irrigation leaks and problems
  • Completes irrigation repairs (including digging holes)
  • Plants trees, shrubs, perennials and grass
  • Applies fertilizer, pre-emergent and post emergent solutions for growth and weed control
  • Removes weeds, garbage and landscape debris
  • Maintains low voltage landscape lighting
  • Operates equipment such as lawn mowers, edges, trimmers, snow blowers, snow plows
  • Ensures equipment & vehicles are working properly
  • Participates in snow removal activities during winter months (includes additional pay)
  • Ensures quality of completed work meets Moana Nursery standards
  • Communicates with other teammates and foreman daily
  • Communicates with Customers over the phone and in person
  • Documents problems, work completed and presents invoices
  • Provides outstanding customer service
  • Ensures customer properties thrive in our region

Physical Requirements & Activity:
  • This position works outside 12 months a year in all conditions
  • Applicant must be able to lift 75 lbs.
  • Applicant must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Applicant must be able to work on their knees.

Expertise & Experience Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must have a valid Nevada Driver's license
  • At least 3 years of experience working with Irrigation Systems

Nice To Have Skills or Experiences:
  • Additional Landscape Maintenance Experience
  • OSHA-10 or OSHA-30 certification
  • Bilingual in English & Spanish
  • Nursery Worker Certification
  • Q.W.E.L Certification
  • Certified Landscape Technician

Your Future Work Schedule:
Our landscape teams typically work Monday through Friday from 7am to 3:30pm with occasional overtime and weekend work.
