Classification: Seasonal - Full Time, Hourly


Reno Green Landscaping Inc. is seeking a Landscape Irrigation Technician to work in our maintenance department. Overall Purpose:
The Landscape Irrigation Technician will be responsible for proper technics for the cultivation and care of the landscaping and grounds surrounding a business or building by using hands, power tools, or equipment. Workers typically perform a variety of tasks which may include digging. This position will also work in crews of 2 or more people, so collaboration and good communication is vital. Leadership skills is needed to monitor and evaluate projects performed by an apprentice.


Duties:
Clean facilities or sites
Dispose of trash or waste materials and recycle them into their assigned areas
Plant greenery to improve landscape appearance
Remove snow
Rake, mulch, and compost leaves
Plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, or shrubs and apply mulch for protection, using gardening tools
Mow and edge lawns, using power mowers or edgers
Trim or pick flowers and clean flower beds
Attach wires from planted trees to support stakes
Follow planned landscaping designs to determine where to lay sod, sow grass, or plant flowers or foliage
Care for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing, removing thatch, or trimming or edging around flower beds, walks, or walls
Prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges, using shears, pruners, or chain saws
Water lawns, trees, or plants, using portable sprinkler systems, hoses, or watering cans
Operate vehicles or powered equipment, such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, snow blowers, chainsaws, electric clippers, sod cutters, or pruning saws
Use hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or axes.
Use a backpack sprayer to apply pesticides
Makes sure to teach the crew how to properly use all tools and machines properly and safely
Makes sure to teach the crew how to properly mow the lawn; prune/trim trees and shrubs; plant flowers; and any other tasks assigned to them
Irrigation system trouble shooting and repair
Programming time clocks
Repairing/installing valves, lateral lines, drip lines, mainlines and irrigation heads
Tracing wires
Responsible for maintaining proper watering for plants, trees, shrubs, and lawn to stay green
Pruning, edging, trimming, and mowing using various machines and handheld tools
Plant flowers, trees, and shrubs
Use company tablets and/or phone to properly clock in/clock out
Set up tasks/jobs for irrigation technician apprentice to follow
Additional duties/tasks/projects as needed
