St. Luke Lutheran Community in North Canton is now hiring for a Maintenance Assistant II. Hours will be 9:00am to 5:30pm with every other weekend, and every other holiday off.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

1. Perform routine maintenance and/or repairs of building structures and equipment; including painting, plumbing, plastering, electrical work, carpentry, mechanical, etc.

2. Perform advanced maintenance and/or repairs of building structures and equipment including bed and wheelchair repairs, motor and pump changes, belt replacement, ballast replacement, switch replacement, and snake drains

3. Perform routine preventative maintenance and repair procedures on building, mechanical equipment, boiler equipment, and other utility systems such as, but not limited to, cleaning coils, changing filters, cleaning ice machines.

4. Inspect, clean, repair, etc. boiler systems as directed.

5. Service heating and cooling units/systems as may be necessary.

6. Complete daily, weekly, monthly, etc. checklists on building, equipment, utility systems, etc.

7. Assemble, install and maintain equipment.

8. Operate motor vehicles and transport residents as required.

9. Perform unscheduled and/or emergency maintenance tasks as needed.

10. Perform remodeling and basic construction projects as assigned.

11. Diagnose mechanical problems, develop a correction plan and make any necessary recommendations for third-party contract services.

12. May perform grounds maintenance duties (snow removal, mowing, trimming, etc.) as necessary.

13. Assist with lifting heavy equipment, supplies, etc. as requested.

14. Order supplies as directed.

15. Complete reports, forms, etc. as may be necessary.

16. Assist other maintenance staff with responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, or equivalent
  • Knowledge related to boilers, compressors, and generators
  • Experience servicing heating and cooling units
  • Must have a valid driver's license
