Job description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Loads and/or unloads trucks: LTL and full loads of finished product and/or Raw Materials.
  • Performs material handling, forklift operation, loading trucks, & pulling orders by following company policies and procedures.
  • Uses the WMS to pick orders and/or transfer product.
  • Performs physical and logical cycle counts as directed.
  • Receives RMA's (returns from customers).
  • Picks and stages transfers to be shipped to outside storage facilities.
  • Properly completes inspections of trailers and completes BOL.
  • Responsible to do safety checklist and charge forklift pursuant to department procedures.
  • May use hand-held electronic inventory devices or forklift mounted device to track, code, or mark merchandise.
  • Receives finished goods from Production department for each shift.
  • Reports any food safety or quality problems to personnel with the authority to initiate action.
  • May use sit-down or stand-up forklift or electric pallet jack in the storage or movement of received stock, equipment, or ingredients.
  • Follows J&J Snack Food's all OSHA safety rules Food Safety Plan (FSP), the Safe Quality Food (SQF) Program, the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and the Good Documentation Practices (GDPs).
  • Other duties as assigned.

COMPETENCIES: To perform this job successfully, Forklift Operator must be self-motivated, able to problem solve, detail-oriented, and able to stay on task. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Must be a self-starter and be able to accomplish a versatile and evolving workload.
  • Excellent in all forms of communication.
  • Innovative, problem solver, flexible, and able to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and adapt well to change.

Required Education:
  • Requires basic skills in: arithmetic and reading & writing English.
  • Must be Forklift Certified.

Required Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years' related experience in warehouse environment. One year of experience with WMS as well as operating forklift and pallet riders.
  • Read and write English and know basic arithmetic.
  • Must be knowledgeable in operating forklift and/or electric pallet riders.
