Quality Control Technician
Job Summary:
Responsible for Quality Control functions in Manufacturing area. Tasks to be performed include enforcing applicable procedures and processes, taking measurements, verifying machine setups, performing first article inspections, looking for and documenting visible defects in assembled hardware, comparing products to samples or engineering drawings to find any defects or other problems, keeping defect tracking records. This work also applies to all receiving inspection operations at facility. Training is required to perform receiving inspection per this work instruction.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Responsible for enforcing Quality Management procedures in the Manufacturing area.
· Responsible for incoming items inspection
· Responsible for SMT line ‘machine Setup verification’
· Responsible for First Article inspections (FAI) of assembled products. This may include completing FAI paperwork in accordance with AS9100 procedures.
· Responsible for documenting defects and putting the data into usable form.
· Responsible for Final Inspection of all out going hardware
· Responsible for writing QA reports as required by supervisor/management
· Perform other duties as required by supervisor/management
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Knowledge of IPC-A-610 requirements
· Knowledge of J-STD-001, Space Addendum soldering standards
· Knowledge of Component Identification and Polarity
· Ability to read/ interpret customer drawings
· Ability to produce written reports
· Ability to perform minor statistical calculations
· Work independently with little or no supervision
· Must have good attention to detail
· Must be able to communicate both orally and in writing.
· Ability to comprehend and follow verbal/written instructions
· Ability to lift/carry a short distance a maximum of 35 pounds
· Ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment
Education:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Certification to IPC-A-610 and/or Certification to J-STD-001 Space Addendum
Special Requirements:
· Minimum 5 years Quality Assurance or Quality Control experience in related field.
· Must be a U.S. Citizen.
· Must be able to successfully pass a background and drug screen.
· Must be able to work a 4/10 Schedule, Monday – Thursday
