Job description

Job Title: Dockhand

Department: Marina

Reports To: Marina Manager

Summary: The Dockhand is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the marina and assisting marina members. The marina is a service driven business and the customer is the driving force behind every task. Dockhands work to ensure a safe and clean environment throughout the harbor and marina facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet and acknowledge guests
  • Help orient members to the marina, facilities and answer questions related to services, dining, entertainment and travel directions
  • Assist in securing boats to docks, connecting utility services (power/water) and waste pump outs
  • Deliver mail and/or packages to marina members
  • Clean public areas such as restrooms, kitchen, common areas, laundry rooms and picnic areas
  • Replenish supplies
  • Wash windows, door panels and sills
  • Clean bottom and sides of pool, removed leaves and cleans filter system
  • Move and arranges outdoor furniture
  • Perform outdoor clean-up such as pulling weeds, raking leaves, planting, and picking up debris and smoking areas
  • Empty trash cans and transports trash for weekly pickups
  • Assist other departments with moving furniture and unloading and storing supplies
  • Reports disturbances, maintenance repairs or unsafe conditions
  • Perform other duties as assigned
