Job description

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Shooting Star Casino team members will always deliver excellent guest service to our guests and fellow co-workers.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities with assigned team members to retain and motivate a professional workforce for Shooting Star Casinos, Hotel and Entertainment.
• Schedules team members.
• Supervises all team members in area for given shift.
• Assures food quality and presentation.
• Making recommendations for management on area's needs.
• Rewards team members.
• Trains team members on proper procedures.
• Administers counseling guidelines as needed.
• Conducts Team Member coaching sessions when Team Members performance warrant such session.
• Verifies hours worked for assigned Team Members and authorized wages paid.
• Instructs, assigns and directs work by maximizing the performance of Team Members and equipment.
Controlling restaurant costs to meet financial responsibilities.
• Maintains inventory levels by monitoring current inventory and requisitioning needed supplies.
• Controls labor costs by ensuring team members staffing levels are optimal.
• Ensure menus and recipes are followed.
• Tracks and reports on spoilage/waste.
• Assures dining room are flowing evenly.
• Monitor the bar to make sure it is flowing smoothly, and adequate staff is available.
Listens and responds to guest concerns to maintain a high level of guest satisfaction.
• Resolves guest grievances when required.
• Listens to guest concerns, answering questions and routing to appropriate personnel.
Assists with having an adequate amount of food on hand at all times without too much inventory.
• Req out food items, cleaning supplies etc.
• Proper storage of all supplies, food items.
• Works with the purchasing department to have adequate supplies in the warehouse.
POS System
Operates Point of Sale (cash register) system with knowledge and accuracy to ensure proper accounting and casino policies and procedures are followed.
• Operate Point of Sale (cash register) system to record transactions, collect payment (credit cards, cash, room charges, tokens, marketing coupons, etc.) and make change correctly for drinks directly served to guests.
• Ensure proper cash handling techniques and balancing of monies during and at end of shift.
• Ensures order receipt is received from server prior to preparing server beverages.
• Ensure all sales are entered at time of preparation/order.
Performs all other duties as required or assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or a minimum of one-year related experience and/or training.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & DESIGNATIONS
Must meet licensing requirements as prescribed by the Tribal State Compact for Gaming.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Knowledge of food safety code.
• Knowledge of Point of Sale (P.O.S) system.
• Knowledge of proper food handling procedures (time and temperature, etc.).
• Knowledge of promotions within department and casino wide.
• Knowledge of wine service in restaurant.
• Skilled in operation of equipment in restaurant settings (drink machines, smoker, combi oven, ice cream machine, steam table, etc.).
• Skill in money handling.
• Ability to add, subtract, percentages, ratios, division, multiplication, fractions etc.
• Ability to professionally deal with internal and external guests, schedules, problem solving, etc.
• Ability to communicate directions in both written and oral form.
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds (such as drink boxes, plates, cups, glasses and eating utensils).
• Ability to frequently stand or walk for long periods of time.
• Ability to assist guest with special needs during their dining experience.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Occasional exposure to blood borne pathogens.
• Frequent exposure to moderate noise level.
• Continuous exposure to moderate levels of tobacco smoke.
