What is Smile Brands?

Smile Brands is a dental support organization (DSO) that provides business management services for dental practices across the United States. They partner with dentists to handle non-clinical functions such as marketing, human resources, billing, and IT, allowing dental professionals to focus on patient care. Smile Brands operates a network of affiliated dental offices under various regional brands, offering services like general dentistry, orthodontics, oral surgery, and more. Their mission is to deliver high-quality dental care while making dental visits more accessible and enjoyable for patients.

What are some common challenges dental professionals face when working at a multi-location group like Smile Brands?

Dental professionals at organizations like Smile Brands often navigate the dynamics of working across multiple locations or as part of a larger group practice. This can present challenges such as adapting to different team cultures, maintaining consistent patient care standards, and coordinating with centralized support teams for administrative tasks. However, these environments also offer robust support systems, access to continuing education, and clear pathways for career advancement. Collaboration with experienced peers and centralized resources can help dental professionals overcome these challenges and thrive in a group practice setting.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a dental professional at Smile Brands, and why are they important?

To thrive as a dental professional at Smile Brands, you need a dental degree (DDS, DMD, RDH, or RDA), current licensure, and strong clinical skills in patient care and dental procedures. Familiarity with digital radiography, dental practice management software, and infection control protocols is typically required. Exceptional communication, teamwork, and customer service skills help build trust and ensure a positive patient experience. These skills and qualifications are vital for delivering quality care, maintaining patient safety, and supporting a collaborative practice environment.

Job description

Overview

Smile Brands is seeking a Talent Attraction Partner to support the execution of our specialty campus recruitment strategy nationwide.

This role will focus primarily on on-campus engagement and relationship building, representing Smile Brands at dental schools, specialty programs, career fairs, networking events, and other university activations. You’ll connect directly with specialty students, build relationships, capture and nurture leads through our CRM, and ensure timely follow-up with our recruiting teams.

Working closely with Talent Attraction leadership, you’ll execute an established specialty campus strategy and help create a strong, consistent Smile Brands presence across our university partnerships.

This is a remote role that requires up to 40% travel, with heavier travel during peak campus seasons. Candidates must reside within reasonable proximity to a major commercial airport and be comfortable with frequent travel to dental schools, recruiting events, and other business activities.

Schedule (days/hours)
Monday - Friday & occasional weekends
Responsibilities
  • Pipeline Development: Lead efforts to create and maintain a strong pipeline of dental candidates by cultivating relationships with schools and students. Ensure pipeline growth and accurate tagging/notation in our CRM. Develop and execute recruitment marketing campaigns.
  • Event Coordination: Plan and execute a comprehensive campus recruitment program, including career fairs, lunch & learns, continuing education sessions, and social events, to engage potential candidates.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and nurture long-term relationships with dental schools, faculty, and students to ensure a steady flow of qualified candidates. Leverage internal SMEs whenever possible.
  • Sourcing Strategies: Utilize diverse sourcing methods, including internal networks, professional associations, social media, and advanced technology tools, to identify and attract top talent.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor industry trends, competition, and market conditions to provide insights and set realistic expectations with hiring managers. Leverage historical data, current openings, forecasted hires, and market trends to build a talent attraction strategy that will maximize ROI.
  • Candidate Engagement: Serve as the initial point of contact for early career candidates, presenting Smile Brands’ value proposition, screening, qualifying, and then introducing talent to the Talent Acquisition Partner team.
  • Brand Ambassador: Represent Smile Brands positively at all recruitment events and ensure a best-in-class candidate experience throughout the hiring process.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the talent acquisition team to align early career talent attraction efforts with business needs.
  • Event Effectiveness: Track and analyze all aspects of recruitment events to continuously refine and improve our strategies.

Qualifications
  • 2+ years of dental recruiting and/or sourcing experience, with either full-cycle or early pipeline focus
  • Experience building relationships with dental schools to recruit early career dental professionals
  • Demonstrated success developing multi-channel strategies to build diverse early career talent pipelines
  • Hands-on experience with an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) required; iCIMS experience strongly preferred
