Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility and materials laboratory located in Grove City, OH manages the entire life cycle of our products, including supply chain development, research and development, manufacturing, testing and distribution.

These products are used in many final applications like automotive, mobile devices, computers, artificial intelligence, 5G networks and industrial automation. Position Charter

The Procurement Manager is responsible for leading and developing the purchasing staff involved in the procurement of raw materials, service parts, services, equipment, and supplies for the Tosoh SMD at maximum value, consistent with delivery requirements and quality specifications.

Reporting Relationships

The Procurement Manager reports to the Director of Business Development and Supplier Solutions.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages a team of procurement personnel through selection, orientation, and training.
  • Develops personnel through coaching, mentoring and career progression.
  • Negotiates with suppliers to source products based on business requirements, maximum value, and minimal cost to acquire and hold. 
  • Manages supplier contract terms and conditions.
  • Maintains quality processes by establishing and enforcing organization standards, policies, business practices, documentation, and training.
  • Maintains and develops suppliers to ensure best service, quality, and price.
  • Mitigates risk using sourcing and stocking strategies.
  • Generates business improvement ideas and cost-saving ideas.
  • Serves as procurement lead for customer audits and customer surveys.
  • Manages performance metrics and reports out to management.
  • Keeps current with economic, industrial, and other trends that affect markets and pricing.
  • Other related duties.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree is required; master’s degree is preferred.
  • 7-10 years of procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results.
  • Strong financial acumen / analytical skills for data analysis and performance improvement.
  • Strong communication and influence skills.
  • Experience with manufacturing information systems and processes.
  • Working knowledge of APICS and lean methodologies.

Physical Requirements

  • Primarily a sedentary position.
  • Ability to travel.
