Job description

FreeCast is solving the problem of multiple streaming service providers(programming competitors) offering different content and delivery models, by gathering it all into one aggregate platform for consumers. The company’s technology platform labeled SmartGuide® collects, consolidates and arranges live linear channels, streaming channels, international/local channels, television programs, movies, regardless if free with ads, pay per view, or subscription based.

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Manual QA Tester to write and execute manual test cases in a BDD or TDD format that can be used to implement automated testing in the future for our Web, Mobile and TV Apps. This person should be passionate about putting out the best possible version of the Apps each time. Someone who has experience testing APIs on Postman or similar software is a huge plus.

  • Mobile (Android & iOS)
  • TV (Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, Samsung Smart TV, LG Smart TV, Roku)

** This is an On-Site position (Not Remote) and candidate must be able to commute to the Orlando HQ Office on a Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM schedule.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Write Test Cases for New Features, Improvements and Bug Fixes per the Use-Cases listed on the business or technical specification provided within Jira or additional Documentation.
  • Execute Test Cases per the Use-Cases listed on the business or technical specification provided within Jira or additional Documentation.
  • Manage / Update Test Cases with each improvement or fix provided.
  • Write Test Cases for Regression Testing per the Use-Cases listed on the original business or technical specification provided within Jira or additional Documentation.
  • Execute Test Cases for Regression Testing per the Use-Cases listed on the original business or technical specification provided within Jira or additional Documentation.
  • Manage / Update Regression Test Cases with each improvement or fix provided.
  • Follow QA Testing Best Practices and FreeCast QA processes
  • Review, understand and measure your QA Testing results with the QA KPIs to improve in your role and better serve and improve each App.

Skills / Experience Requirements:

  • Experience testing API Endpoints with Postman or similar software (2+ Years)
  • Experience Writing & Executing manual test cases on Web, Mobile & TV Apps (2+ Years)
  • Experience Writing BDD and TDD Test Cases (+2 Years)
  • Experience managing Test Cases for Website, Mobile and TV Apps (2+ Years)
  • Experience creating detailed written description of any defects found (2+ Years)
  • Experience reporting Bug Density Rates and QA Leakage Rates (1+ Years)
  • Must be able to effectively communicate issues to Team
  • MUST be available for a minimum of 8 hours during the Company's hours of 8:00am - 5:30pm EST Monday thru Friday.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with Automated Test Case Writing is a plus!
  • Experience with Jira and Atlassian products
  • Experience with all Testing Types (Blackbox, Performance, Security, Smoke, Stress, Whitebox)
  • Experience with STLC
  • Experience with Agile Development / SDLC Workflow
  • Experience testing a Streaming or OTT App is a huge plus!

** This is an On-Site position (Not Remote) and candidate must be able to commute to the Orlando HQ Office on a Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM schedule.

The hourly pay for this role starts at $22.00 / hour
