Position Summary

Samsung has developed a proprietary ad platform that leverages unique first party TV data to help brands connect to their audience as they explore content across desktop, mobile, tablets and our SMART TVs.
The Samsung Ad Platform delivers high-quality audience targeting powered by three key components: first-party audience data at scale, world-class data science, and brand-safe cross-device ad inventory.

Role and Responsibilities

This Sales Executive, focused on both our owned and operated inventory and audience extension, will be a motivated self-starter responsible for building and growing relationships with agencies across the country in major media markets for the top 100 brand marketers.

The individual should have a passion for analytics & measurement, and have a pulse for new multi-channel advertising technologies. He/She must have deep audience targeting expertise; and have previously worked in hyper-growth/fast paced organizations.

This individual should have an existing client base and strong agency experience, including key senior level contacts. This role will focus on the Automotive vertical, be national in scope (road warrior) and about 70% new business. Position is centered around east coast agencies with Auto accounts - but individual will own client relationship regardless of location. This Sales Executive must be able to think strategically, anticipate how buying decisions are made, uncover the business needs of key clients and have a proven ability to close deals. Additionally, this executive will be the consummate team-player and have the ability to work collaboratively across the sales organization within a fluid and fast paced environment. This position will carry an annual revenue goal.

The Sales Executive position is based in NY with domestic US travel as needed and periodic visits to headquarters in Korea. You will report to the Automotive Sales Director. Here at Samsung Ads, we're looking for an experienced Sales Executive who will use his/her 5-8 years of experience selling digital or TV advertising solutions to successfully grow and scale domestic revenues. This individual should be a proven hunter that is able to build a national book of business from the ground up.

Your ability to interact with top advertisers and their ad agencies will be important as you will use your networking and prospecting skills to identify, develop and manage new accounts that will complement our existing client roster and help you reach your revenue targets.

As an individual contributor, you'll be supported by our world class ad operations team and will benefit from working with a leadership team that is chartering our explosive growth.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Delivery net-new demand & revenue across key accounts
  • Develop high-level relationships with your customers and serve as a trusted consultant to optimize their advertising growth.
  • Create mid-term and long-term territory plan to grow the advertising business both on and off our Smart TV platform.
  • Work with agencies and brands to integrate the Smart TV platform into their media mix.
  • Be the voice of the customer and communicate market trends and industry shifts, including implications to our products teams.
  • Act as an internal champion for proposed Smart TV advertising strategy across other key Samsung stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in New Business development or Sales for traditional TV as well as digital media advertising (CTV, OLV and data activation minimum 10+ years)
  • Experience selling data and complex deals a plus.
  • Experience working in a hunter capacity a plus.
  • Experience working with clients directly a plus.
  • A solid understanding of advertising industry's issues and interest to advancing Smart TV's forward looking strategies within the marketplace
  • Strong track record of high level negotiation with established relationships within the advertising industry
  • Successful internal and external relationship management
  • Ability to interact with agencies and advertisers and experience presenting both over the phone and in-person
  • Experience working in both entrepreneurial and established corporate cultures
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently close sales and generate revenues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and good follow-through
  • Bachelor's degree

Skills and Qualifications

The salary range for this role is expected to be between $150,000 and $230,000, plus a bonus paid quarterly. Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
