Schedule: Swing shift Wed Thru Fri, + Day shift on Sat.
Location: Mount Vernon, WA (Skagit Valley - just north of Highway 20)
Pay: $22.00-$30.00/hour (DOE) | Non-Exempt, Hourly
We're seeking a Diesel Mechanic II to join our maintenance team at our Mount Vernon facility. This role is ideal for a mechanic with a solid foundation in diesel repair who's ready to build advanced skills in a hands-on, fast-paced environment. You'll work alongside experienced technicians, receive on-the-job training, and grow your career in a company that values safety, teamwork, and continuous learning.
What You'll Do
  • Perform routine maintenance and entry-to-mid-level repairs on diesel-powered trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment
  • Assist with diagnosing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, brake, suspension, and engine-related issues
  • Conduct inspections and accurately document findings and repairs
  • Support senior mechanics during major repairs, overhauls, and component replacements
  • Test and verify equipment to ensure repairs meet safety and performance standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including tools and service bays
  • Participate in an on-call rotation as needed

What We're Looking For:
Experience:
  • 1-3 years of hands-on diesel mechanic experience preferred

Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Diesel Technology certificate or Associate's degree strongly preferred

Skills & Abilities:
  • Working knowledge of diesel mechanical systems and repair techniques
  • Ability to read and follow service manuals, schematics, and written instructions
  • Basic computer skills for work orders and maintenance records
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a team

Licenses:
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required
  • CDL is a plus, but not required

Physical Requirements
