Job description

We are seeking a Diesel Technician with at least 3 years of hands-on experience and the ability to do a basic service.  Strom's Truck Repair is looking for someone to join our team who is hard-working, reliable, and able to learn and grow.

The hours are Monday through Friday, 8 am-5 pm, with some overtime offered.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, and hydraulic systems.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems using diagnostic equipment and repair manuals.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and fluid checks.
  • Repair or replace faulty components such as engines, fuel systems, cooling systems, exhaust systems, and electrical systems.
  • Test vehicles and equipment after repairs to verify proper operation.
  • Maintain accurate service records, repair orders, and maintenance logs.
  • Follow all safety procedures and comply with company and environmental regulations.
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary tools and equipment.
  • Respond to emergency roadside or field service calls when required.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience as a diesel mechanic is required
  • Must have your own tools
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and repair instructions.
  • Valid driver's license; Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is a plus.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various weather conditions.
