Position: Refrigeration / Diesel Service Technician (Shop & Mobile)

Position Overview

Walser Mobile Refrigeration LLC is seeking a skilled and motivated Service Technician to join our growing team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining transport refrigeration units (TRU), diesel vehicles, trailers, and heavy-duty equipment. Work will be performed both in-shop and in the field through mobile road service.
Key Responsibilities

  •  Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair transport refrigeration units (Carrier, Thermo King, etc.) 
  •  Perform preventative maintenance on TRUs, diesel trucks, trailers, and related equipment 
  •  Inspect equipment and identify mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration system issues 
  •  Repair or replace defective components including engines, compressors, electrical systems, and controls 
  •  Perform A/C system diagnostics and repairs (truck & van A/C experience preferred) 
  •  Complete service calls in both shop and mobile environments 
  •  Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and parts usage 
  •  Manage and maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies in service vehicle 
  •  Communicate effectively with customers regarding repairs, timelines, and recommendations 
  •  Follow all safety procedures and DOT compliance requirements 
Qualifications

  •  Experience with diesel engine repair and diagnostics 
  •  Automotive and/or heavy-duty equipment diagnostic experience 
  •  Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems (12V/24V) 
  •  ASE Certification and/or Diesel Mechanic Certification (preferred, not required) 
  •  Valid Driver’s License (clean driving record preferred) 
  •  DOT Medical Card (or ability to obtain) 
  •  Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in varying weather conditions 
  •  Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently 
  •  Good communication and customer service skills 
Preferred Experience (Bonus Skills)

  •  Experience with Carrier Transicold and/or Thermo King units 
  •  EPA 608 Certification (refrigerant handling) 
  •  Welding and fabrication experience 
  •  Mobile service or field technician experience
