Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, air brake systems, transmissions, and drivetrain components.
  • Perform inspections and preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles (vans, box trucks, heavy-duty trucks, trenchers, loaders, etc.).
  • Use diagnostic software and tools to troubleshoot advanced engine codes and mechanical issues.
  • Complete work orders and maintenance logs with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and safety guidelines during all service operations.
  • Recommend and prioritize major repairs and replacements.
  • Train, supervise, and support junior mechanics and shop assistants as needed.
  • Communicate clearly with operations and dispatch regarding vehicle readiness and repair timelines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Required qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical school certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience working on diesel engines, with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • ASE Diesel Certifications highly preferred.
  • Valid driver's license (CDL a plus but not required).
  • Strong knowledge of diagnostic tools and equipment (Cummins Insite, CAT ET, Allison DOC, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, repair manuals, and service bulletins.
  • Familiarity with DOT, EPA, and OSHA regulations.
  • Basic welding and fabrication skills a plus.

Candidates will be required to pass a background check and drug test upon being given a conditional offer of employment
