A slow-paced, low-stress job is a role that allows for a more relaxed work environment with minimal pressure and manageable workloads. They are ideal for individuals seeking better work-life balance, reduced anxiety, or a calming professional routine. What types of daily tasks can I expect in a slow paced low stress job?

In slow-paced, low-stress jobs, you can typically expect to handle routine tasks such as light clerical work, monitoring an environment, restocking supplies, or providing general assistance with predictable duties. Many of these positions involve independent work or operate within a small, supportive team, and you are rarely required to meet urgent deadlines or multitask extensively. The work environment is often quiet and structured, allowing you to focus on completing assigned tasks at a relaxed, manageable pace. This makes such roles well-suited for individuals seeking stability and work-life balance while contributing reliably to their workplace.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in a slow paced low stress position, and why are they important?

Job description

Travel Emt Opportunity

Ready to leave the routine behind? Become a travel EMT.

Most EMT jobs keep you in the same rig, driving the same routes, seeing the same things. This isn't one of them.

Best Practice Medicine is seeking qualified travel EMTs for a 3-6-month assignment in Virginia in a fast-paced, demanding IFT environment with a leading EMS system. If you're looking for a predictable, slow-paced, low-effort job, keep scrolling. But if you want to get paid to explore new places, expand your professional network, and test your skills in dynamic environments, we want you on our team.

This is not for everyone. Only apply if you are ready for:

  • Real adventure & variety: See cool places, meet interesting people, and step outside of your comfort zone.
  • A clinical challenge: Expand your skills, build a powerful clinical knowledge base, and deliver exceptional pre-hospital care.
  • Competitive compensation: We value your flexibility and expertise, and our pay reflects that.

Compensation:

  • $30-33/hour
  • Housing stipend: $675.00/week

Benefits:

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Life, AD&D, critical illness, short-term and long-term disability plans
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Paid sick leave

Core responsibilities:

  • Respond to emergencies and administer pre-hospital care in response to IFT and 911 calls.
  • Coordinate directly with law enforcement agencies and perform vital patient assessments.
  • Deliver basic life support (BLS), conduct pharmaceutical interventions, and perform CPR during critical cardiac, toxicological, and neurological emergencies.
  • Maintain ambulance safety protocols and ensure all medical supplies are stocked and ready for action.

What you will do:

  • Scene assessment & triage: Evaluating the emergency scene for safety and determining the nature and severity of a patient's injury or illness.
  • Documentation & reporting: Recording observations, treatments, and patient history, and clearly relaying this information to receiving doctors and nurses.
  • Equipment maintenance: Inspecting the ambulance and medical equipment to ensure the vehicle is clean, sanitized, and fully stocked for the next emergency call.
  • Travel adaptability: Must possess the flexibility to relocate and the clinical agility to integrate instantly into new emergency response teams. A proactive attitude toward shifting schedules and diverse patient demographics is essential.

Requirements:

Basic qualifications:

  • 1+ years experience as an EMT
  • National registry: EMT (NREMT)
  • American Heart Association: BLS (AHA BLS)
  • Current immunizations (MMR, Hep B, TDAP)
  • Negative TB test within the last 12 months

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a busy 911 system as an EMT
  • Average work tenure of three years
  • Previous traveler experience with Best Practice Medicine
