Job description


The Public Area or EVS Lead performs custodial functions to ensure the cleanliness of the facility to include the casino, and other public and employee areas in accordance with management directives. In addition to the assigned custodial functions, the Public Area Lead provides mentorship to public area attendants and assumes the role of Public Area/EVS Supervisor in the absence of the Public Area/EVS Supervisor.
Responsibilities
  • Monitors casino floor, stairs, mirrors, glass and assigned areas to ensure quality and cleanliness.
  • Maintain appearance of gaming area including dust and polish/disinfect slot machines and seats, cleaning trash from between, behind, and on the floor around slot machines.
  • Completely clean entire casino floor area, vacuuming, cleaning carpets and carpeted areas, ledges, edges, glass.
  • Clean gaming tables as/when requested.
  • Dusting and cleaning of all casino signage.
  • Services assigned areas daily, including vacuuming, mopping, cleaning and disinfecting of rest rooms, ash/trash receptacles, elevators, dusting, polishing, and sweeping.
  • Mop, sweep, and clean restrooms to include sink and mirrors - wall, toilet, vents, dispensers, etc.
  • Cleans, sweeps, mops and empties trash in offices, lobbies, bar areas, corridors, elevators, locker rooms and other work areas as directed by the supervisor or manager.
  • Monitors bathrooms to ensure that they are always clean and orderly.\Maintains all equipment supplies and supply rooms in an orderly manner, as instructed by Supervisor.
  • Removes all trash and recycling from all receptacles and disposes at their designated locations.
  • Operates trash and cardboard compactor following the Standard Operations Guidelines (SOG).
  • Assists the supervisor with the oversight of the departmental duties: dusting, vacuuming, trash disposal, restroom cleaning; cleaning of windows, mirrors, walls, doors, and carpet cleaning to include the cleaning of slot machines and other furnishings.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory and order departmental cleaning supplies as required.
  • Assigns Public Area (EVS) staff daily cleaning duties, when standing in as a supervisor.
  • Prepares and maintains files, records, reports, and related documents in support of Public Area (EVS) activities, as assigned.
  • Enforces Public Area (EVS) standard operational procedures.
  • Meet and coordinate with supervisor prior to each assigned shift.
  • Must attend and complete ask required departmental training to include but not limited to; bio clean up, carpet cleaning/shampooing/extracting, and chemical safety.
  • Is responsible for turning in any kind of lost and found into Security.
  • Will complete any project issued to them by their supervisor or manager.
  • Is responsible for always providing proper customer service by assisting out external/internal guests when they have questions or requests.
  • Ensures that all keys are issued, signed out, and returned by the end of shift.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all Public Area/EVS personnel are completing all mandatory and required computer-based training.
  • Assists in orienting and training of all new Public Area/EVS Attendants. Making sure that all new employees deal with Caesars Virginia guests in a friendly and courteous manner and adheres to the Public Area/EVS standards.
  • Attendance is an essential part responsibility for all team members and are expected to report to work based upon the assigned scheduled each day in accordance with the attendance policy for Caesars Virginia.
  • Reports maintenance needs to Supervisor.
  • Reports emergency repairs to Supervisor immediately.
  • Completes special assignments assigned by Supervisor - Public Areas and above as requested.
  • Maintain break room and executive office facilities.
  • Participates in departmental safety and technical training programs.

Wage: $18.25
Qualifications
  • Good communication skills.
  • Computer applications skills.
  • Good knowledge of cleaning procedures.
  • Minimum of 1 year as cleaner in EVS or equivalent.
  • Proven problem-solving skills are required as demonstrated by the ability to respond calmly and make rational decisions when required.
  • General knowledge of chemicals, cleaners, strippers, and waxes preferred.
  • Knowledge of operation of tools and equipment used in the performance of Public Area/EVS work.
  • Ability to supervise and direct the work of others.
  • Good oral and written communication skills must be fluent and literate in English and have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively over handheld radios.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain office reports and records.
  • Must be able to retain and apply information obtained during departmental training sessions/meetings.
