Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Slot Manager I, under the direction of the Slot Director and onsite General Manager, is responsible for directing and overseeing all activities of the Slot Technicians and Slot Floorpersons at the Kewadin Casino location. The position is responsible for overseeing and assisting in the maintenance, removal, installation, repair and proper operation of all gaming machines. The position is responsible for providing leadership and promoting teamwork to improve the overall operation of the Slot Department and for promoting and maintaining the utmost integrity and the highest caliber of customer service and respect to guests and staff. The position is responsible for providing attentive, cheerful, courteous, professional customer service to all customers, internal and external, striving to always exceed their expectations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (includes, but is not limited to, the following)
  • Oversee and supervise the on-site day-to-day operation of the Slot Department; i.e., hire, fire, completes performance evaluations, approves leave, processes payroll, coaches and trains Slot Department team members.
  • Provide revenue reports and detailed analysis when request by Slot Director and/or Casino Manager III.
  • Recommend machine replacement and/or game conversions if necessary.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with internal and Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS).
  • Schedule installations/removals and maintenance of slot machines and related equipment.
  • Assist Slot Director with analyzing revenue, forecasting and projecting budgets.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (includes, but is not limited to, the following)
  • Develop Slot Department work schedules and assignments.
  • Monitor overall expenses to stay within the approved budget.
  • Assist Bingo with technical issues if needed.
  • All other job-related duties as assigned.

Immediate peers, peers in other department, immediate supervisor/manager, managers in other departments, customers and outside vendors/service providers.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Position heavy with lifting of 100 pounds with team or dual lifting and frequent lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds. Physical factors include constant standing, walking, use of hearing, near vision; frequent sitting, carrying/lifting, pushing/pulling, reaching, manual handling, midrange/far vision, color/field of vision, typing and bending; climbing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, use of smell, and depth perception. Working conditions include frequent noise and air quality and occasional exposure to weather, extreme heat/cold, wet/humidity and vibration. Potential hazards include frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, electric shock, computer use and occasional exposure to high exposed places, chemicals, infectious exposure and equipment use.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree in any field preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience required.
Certification/License: Must undergo a Criminal background investigation done under the rules of the National Indian Gaming Commission.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of mechanical functions and play aspects of slot machines, procedures and casino floor operations preferred. Must have working knowledge and be able to use office machines, such as calculator, copier, fax, printer and computer. Must have excellent communication skills and be able to communicate clearly in person, in writing, and by telephone and email. Knowledge of and ability to use word processing and spreadsheet and data base software preferred. Management and leadership skills required. Must have excellent organizational skills; organizing work, prioritizing tasks and managing time. Accounting skills preferred. Clerical skills preferred. Must be able to establish and maintain effective communication with co-workers, subordinates, supervisors and the general public. Must have excellent public relation/customer service skills and be able to exhibit a friendly and positive attitude. Must be able to work extended hours when needed. Must be flexible and available to work various shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays. Must be able to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work under pressure and handle difficult situations. Must maintain confidentiality. Native American preferred.
Will be required to have a Criminal background investigation done under the rules of the National Indian Gaming Commission. Will be required to complete and pass pre-employment drug testing.
