Job description

Job Summary: 

Operators must be highly safety conscious, quality focused, proficient and accurate using tape measures, mechanically inclined, and experienced in computerized reporting. (Training is on 1st shift) 


Job Duties:  

  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area
  • Maintains a safe working environment by following environments by following all company safety policies and procedures and reports unsafe conditions and incidents
  • Maintains company's quality standards
  • Runs the job by starting the machines, monitoring the production and running the number of sets specified on the Slitting Ticket-(MOVEX) Master Text on orders
  • Labels all rolls produced by attaching the labels automatically printed when 'Slit to Ads" are entered into the computer system
  • Enters into data collection each set produced by keying in information into the AS400
  • Makes adjustment to the machine during the run responding to problems found during visual inspection
  • Matches material to product code on Slitting Ticket (MOVEX)
  • Reviews the packing specifications by locating the information in the computer system to ensure the customer specifications are met
  • Activates job into the computer systems by entering information from Slitting tickets
  • Inspects film each day for any defects
  • Reviews packing specifications
  • Transports material and finished products to the appropriate location 

Job Qualifications:

 

  • High School diploma or equivalent, Associates degree preferred or a combination of education/ experience
  • 3-5 years of operator experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, slitting experience preferred
  • Must have organizational skills with an ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Must possess good problem solving skills
  • Ability to interact in a professional manner with employees 
  • Basic computer skills, sufficient enough to run reports 
  • Willingness to work as team member or independently
