Maintenance Technician
We currently have an opening to join our team at our facility in Lawrence Kansas as a Maintenance Technician. You would perform routine maintenance and repairs as needed to keep machines and mechanical equipment operating efficiently and in a safe manner. As part of the maintenance team, you would furthermore inspect, operate or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and find solutions to maintain an efficient manufacturing process.
This is a full-time position, joining an experienced maintenance team. Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing engineering support in the manufacturing area, along with additional site infrastructure. Full training specific to the requirements of operations will be provided.
ยท Primary Function:
โ€ข Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components
โ€ข Monitor and improve the performance, operation and preventative maintenance of production equipment and facilities
โ€ข Identify, detect, report, and repair improper operations, faulty equipment and unusual or unsafe conditions
ยท Essential Responsibilities:
โ€ข Must have a full understanding of safety programs and comply with safety policies and PPE requirements
โ€ข Respond to written and verbal requests to repair equipment malfunctions
โ€ข Specify and order parts and supplies as needed to complete assigned tasks
โ€ข Monitor the PM program and complete assigned preventative maintenance tasks
โ€ข Able to be on-call for emergency repairs on nights & weekends every 3rd week
. Additional Responsibilities:
โ€ข Keep work areas clean and organized
โ€ข Keep inventory area clean, organized and up to date
โ€ข Perform other duties as assigned
. Competencies (skills) required to perform the job:
โ€ข Good problem-solving/troubleshooting skills
โ€ข Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
โ€ข Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments
โ€ข Good visual observation skills
โ€ข Computer literate (Microsoft Excel, Word and CMMS)
โ€ข Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
โ€ข Electrical control abilities and troubleshooting skills including the ability to utilize electrical testing equipment and diagnostic software on PCโ€™s
โ€ข PLC and VFD drive experience preferred
Qualifications:
ยท Experience: Five years of hands-on industrial machinery maintenance with experience in the printing/paper, web coating, or converting/slitting industry preferred
ยท Education Requirements: High School diploma or GED, technical maintenance training preferred
