Job description

Finisher / Machine Operator / Labels
Our label machine finisher prepares, runs, and maintains equipment that converts printed label rolls into final, customer-ready products. This involves slitting, rewinding, die-cutting, and inspecting labels for defects to ensure they meet strict production and quality specifications. 
Pay rate: $18.50/hour 
Schedule: Monday to Friday | 8:00am to 5:00pm 
Term: Temp to hire

Key Responsibilities
  • Machine Setup: Calibrate, adjust, and operate high-speed finishing and slitter/rewind machines based on specific job orders.
  • Quality Control: Inspect running labels for misprints, wrinkles, or color inconsistencies. Remove defects and splice rolls when necessary.
  • Material Management: Cut and rewind labels into precise quantities, ensuring they are correctly boxed and identified.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine machine cleaning, lubrication, and basic troubleshooting of jams or mechanical issues.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Comfort using hand tools (e.g., wrenches, screwdrivers) to adjust machine parts and perform changeovers.
  • Attention to Detail: A keen eye for visual defects and the ability to read and verify complex job tickets.
  • Physical & Environmental: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy rolls of materials, and work in fast-paced production environments.
  • Computer Literacy: Capability to use production software for tracking inventory and printing core/carton labels
